Welcome! My name is Richard Johnstone and I am a keen photographer based in South Wales in the UK. I have had a passion for photography since I was a young boy. My grandad was also into his photography and although I didn't directly spend time with him doing photography I think it passed in the genes to me!
I love just taking photos; as you will see from my Portfolio images I am happy taking pictures of anything and everything. I love to continually challenge myself as I feel that's a way of improving.
My first camera I really got into using was an Olympus bridge camera. I was able to gain plenty of practice with this and at the time I jointly ran a 1950's rock and roll club and so I had plenty of opportunities to take images of people dancing and the bands playing. Moving on from this I went through a couple of cameras before settling with my current camera - a Nikon DSLR. I've got involved with local camera clubs to develop my knowledge and also linked up with various other photographers which has given me the opportunity to learn from them and see how they do things.
